Africa Funk -
I highly recommend this comp it is 100% dopeness.
I heard my friend rocking another African funk comp which just
came out, will give u the info once I find out more about it.
I have to give props to Tony Allen who has made apparent
thru these compilations and recent releases (e.g. ARIYA) that
he is on point time and time again, like fela.
Another Ill Single - Neba Solo remixes - sorry, dont got the
record in front of me, so dont know the label -
it's got a remix by frederic galliano that is house tempo but
3/4 time signature, on african vibe, dooooope!
On the flipside, a downtempo, vibey african groove that comes in
with a rough beat, then switches into an uptempo house style
african jam... perfect transition song...
.... so here's another question:
those of you all who are bringing the new year in on turntables,
what do you plan on playing at time 0, when the ball drops???
My choice: Celebration, by Airto Moreira
peace
