"Just heard Deni Hines & Don-E's rather splendid cover of the Deco tune
'Delicious' - a big favourite of mine from the mid-80's. Nice to hear
that tune dug out for potential chart success - definitely slept on
first time
around."
I picked up an actual copy of this today (which is when it, umm..
shipped) and I have to say I think there's something _very_ suspect with
the vocals on this.
a) I have a hard time working out which vocals are Deni Hines and which
are Don-E. In fact they all sound like Don-E, apart from (see b, below)
b) Some (well, a _lot_) of the vocals sound like they've been
pitch-shifted up with a compensating time stretch. There's *no way* the
vocals on this track are free from some kind of digital manipulation...
It's still a good tune, and there are some nice additional mixes on the
CD, including one that throws in a bit of Carl Anderson's "Buttercup"
for additional trainspotter appeal... but the obvious massaging of the
vocals is freaking me a bit.
Anyone got any clues on this? If it was April 1st I'd thing it was
Don-E's big joke on the music world for sleeping on his stuff...
