i have to admit that sometimes it's hard for me to draw the line of where
acid-jazz ends. when i call myself an acid-jazz dj, i use that term
partially *because* it's vague. it allows me to spin funk, hiphop, d&b,
dub,
t-hop, rare-groove, jazz and/or whatever's in the fridge--know what i mean?
i listen to all of the above, and various world musics (both beat & non-beat
oriented), anything w/interesting sounds or a good groove--i even heard some
*hard rock* i liked the other day!!! i buy spoken word albums and all kinds
of weird shit that i can use in my tracks, for scratching or layering...
i know that i'll be going thru my old fusion & prog-rock records sometime
soon--never know where you'll find a cool sample or scratch...

... my friend is a "dub dj" for the same reasons i'm an "a-j dj"--freedom!
