As a local promotor (& dj) and having been part of the promoting/booking of
Jamiroquai, I must say that I'm completely frustrated with their (and the
label's) management of their touring.
Two cancellations in Houston and this is in light of the fact that they have
never been here. The first cancellation was AFTER a sell-out which they
cancelled to be able to add a date in Chicago to do a radio spot.
The second cancellation (Dec 1) was explained as "lack of label support,"
Sony will tell you different,... so to me it means they don't "communicate
with each other effectively" (read into that as much as your imagination
will let you).
If you're "exhausted", or are sick (shingles), don't overbook. When you do
overbook, honor your commitments. Despite the slinging of blame between
management and label, I hold the group ultimately responsible for the final
decisions and if they claim to have "no control", stand up and GET IT!
