Here's another grab bag of favorites from this week's show:

* Amon Tobin - PERMUTATION (Ninja Tune)
Masterful and eclectic new album from this Brazilian genius.

* Plastikman - CONSUMED (Nova Mute)
Deep, practically subterranean, electronic grooves.

* Evolution Control Committee - "Rocked by Rape" (Eerie Materials)
From the folks who crossed Chuck D with Herb Alpert for the
"Whipped Cream Mixes" 7", here's another cut and paste workout,
this time featuring Dan Rather and AC/DC.

* Pluramon - RENDER BANDITS (Mille Plateaux)
An engaging combination of live instruments and electronics from
the Mouse on Mars camp.

* V/A - COPA MUNDIAL MUSIQUE (Guidance)
Wearing this one out lately. Must be the World Cup connection...

* V/A - SPLINTER (Paper)
Great house compilation from the Paper camp, including a bonus
mix CD by Salt City Orchestra.

* V/A - SUSHI 3003 (Bungalow)
Delightful collection of Japanese club pop, focusing on the
retro aspect with acts like Pizzicato Five, Tokyo's Coolest Combo,
etc. This has been one of the most successful releases for
the German Bungalow label; I understand Vol. 2 is in the works.

* Material - INTONARUMORI (Axiom)
Got an advance cassette of this new Axiom hip-hop project.
Features Kool Keith, Ghetto Prophets, Lori Carson, and more.

* Skylab - "Seashell" (L'Attitude/Astralwerks)
Aah, they sure don't make 'em like this anymore, do they?

* Jazz Jamaica - "Walk On By" (Hannibal)
From their new album DOUBLE BARREL. The whole album is great, but
I can't quit playing this fantastic Bacharach/David cover!

That's all for now. Comments/questions cheerfully answered privately.
