i'm sure you alrady know this rob, but others may not know that the club is
continuing in a new location in islington (london) once called the complex
... now renamed the blue note ... bigger (four floors), and more accessible
(sort of) but without the gritty hoxton charm that the blue note drew from
but was also partly responsible for ... i also read they've bought up
crossbar (kings cross, london) and are reinventing that as the blue note
bar ... they're having a relaunch festival at the new blue note called the
bigger blue from july 9-24 ... stellar line-up includes audioweb, courtney
pine, finlay quaye, les rhythmes digitales, black star liner, lionrock
soundsystem, deejay punk-roc, bentley rhythm ace, david holmes, etc.....
sorry for the london-centric nature of the post, but the blue note is/was
such an important venue, particularly for breakbeat-related music ...
cheers,
dan.
