Also, Intersound's multimedia - like the Ohio Players Ol Skool has
problems.

Intersound wrote me a response to why the Enhanced CD doesn't work:

After inserting the CD into your computer, pick the view option under
the My computer window and pick refresh. This should show the current
CD name inserted in your CD-ROM drive. Picking the CD at this point
should show you the *.exe file for your disc. If you are unable to
see any programs, then one of the following will apply to your CD-ROM
drive.

According to an article by Doug Lombardi of Boot magazine, "Anyone with
a post-November 1995 version of Win 95 has a driver that is incompatible
with ECDs mastered with the pre-gap solution (meaning, the multimedia
data
is located on track "0")." The article goes on to say that Microsoft
was fixing a bug in the drivers at that time and caused the problem with
that fix. Also since Microsoft is pushing their format for CD
Extra/Plus,
they have no plans to fix the incompatibility.

If your Windows 95 is before this update then the problem could be that
you have an incompatibility in the firmware of the CD-ROM drive.
The manufacturer of the drive may be able to fix the problem.

The enhanced cd's which Intersound creates are made with what is called
pre-gap technology(track 0). This means the computer data is stored in
track 0 and not in the audio tracks 1 and up. This, by design, will
allow audio players to play the audio tracks without fear of damage to
audio systems from computer data on tracks 1 and up. We apologize
for the problem you are having with our disc, however there is nothing
we can do to make it work on your drive.
