Hmmm, I've always liked many of the jazz cuts. 'Olliloqui Vally' on volume
one was cool, because I could hear the Eric B. break. You've got to
realize that Blue Note is "The Finest In Jazz Since 1939", so most of the
catalog is jazz. We keep talking about jazzy drum'n'bass, jazzy house, and
they can only get their jazz samples from JAZZ records. I liked volume 3,
I love the Shirly Bassey 'Light My Fire" cover, 'Don't Call Me Nigger
Whitey', by Gene Harris (1/3 of the Three Sounds), 'Get Out of My Life
Woman' Joe Williams/Thad Jones/Mel Louis, with an incredible piano break,
and all the Lou Donaldson.
