Its my understanding that Maxwell has long since had material and tracks
laid for a new album but everytime he was prepared to go into the studio,
the lable would release a song or send him on tour. Check the Maxwell
Appreciators Association http://www.maxwellappreciators.com --I think
that's the correct URL. Its an unofficial page but it appears that SONY
feeds them information. I think you can also hear a single off the new
track. Can't remember.
As for D'Angelo, sometime last year, he had a single out that didn't get
plaid much--very Prince sounding piece. I know that EMI (U.S.) went under
and several artists were left without a label. At one point, I think
Maverick was courting him but I haven't heard anything else since. That's
