Yes, I've seen it for sale at over 100 pounds a few times. I was lucky and
picked it up cheap (about $15, I think). Of course, don't ask me where ;)
Anyway by far the best track, IMO, is "24 Karat Theme" which is the one on one
of the Jazz Dance Classics (Luv 'N' Haight) and various other compilations and
bootlegs. There's also the title track which is nice, but also can be found on
a recent Stax Funk compilation which a friend of mine has. I wouldn't say
there's any other really funky material on there. The rest of the album is
good, but more moody and souly. I'm glad to own it - it is really good -, but
seeing as the funkiest tracks are readily available elsewhere, I'd have been
pretty disappointed if I'd paid 100 quid for it. I wouldn't pay that much for a
record anyway. Well I would if I won the lottery. I mean there are records,
much rarer than this one, which you are very unlikely to see for sale unless
it's for a lot of money from some specialist dealer. I sometimes see lists
(http://www.raregrooves.co.uk/raresoulauction.html for example) and wish I was
a millionaire so I could just buy the lot. Oh well, dream on. I'll just have to
keep digging for bargains. I have to admit though, part of the fun of it all is
finding the gems from amongst all the other crap ;)

Good hunting,
Alex
