re> Ninja Cuts: Funkjazztical Tricknology. Old (95?) ninja tune
re> comp. I wanna be a ninja when I grow up.

this has such great stuff on it, i have to force myself not to take it out
everytime i play--i'm buying new stuff and it needs to get played, y'know?

re> hawke: vivos en la muerte. smooth and good. uses some
re> great noises in an otherwise ?smooth house? song. no, its
re> not house, forget I said that. When I have time I figure
re> out what kind of music this is I get back with you. Took a
re> strong dislike to the remixes on the b side. The Hawke logo
re> on the sleeve rules.

haven't heard this, but it's is part of the hardkiss posse (they have this
thing for bird names--incl. "little wing"). i heard one of these guys spin
and they *really* mix it up. they're from sf, i think, and there's much
respect in the house/trance community for them, which usually assures i
won't
like it, but these guys break the mold.

re> monkey mafia: long as I can see the light. ok, this is not
re> what I took Monkey Mafia was all about. Sweet female vocal
re> over an aj, dub track. Flip side more dub, regae mc and
re> cool noise, this time with breaks. There we go, I knew M.M.
re> was loud. All kinds of thumbs up.

definitely dope!!! the b-side is a great way to sneak into d&b from a
ragga/dancehall vibe...

re> Living it: DJ Jeannie Hopper + Sabine Worthman. 4 mixes, 1
re> song. Spoken word by Martha Cinader over a phat live bass
re> (on the favorite mix). Originally thought it was kind of
re> lame but I kept going back to it in the store again and
re> again. I'll see how it holds up. Reminds me of what got me
re> in2 a.j. in the first place.

i actually like this, but wish there was a mix w/heavier beats. i'm on this
mission (as always, huh elson?) to get jazz jungle out of that "chill"
category--before it was acid-jazz...

re> Invisible Pair of Hands. disparation. I don't know about
re> this yet ask me when I've heard it again. There's a chance
re> that I might think its boring. Oil, Oil, Oil, is good tho.
re> But if that turns out to be it, then I would have been
re> better off with Another Compilation on Cup of Tea.

i didn't like most of what i heard on the vinyl of the 2nd cup comp. i
think
the better invisible pair 12" is the one w/the herbalizer remix ("cairo..."
something or other)
