This string created an interesting list of albums, but until now nobody
mentioned the work of Sly and the Family Stone. The albums 'there's a riot
going on' and 'Fresh' got some of my friends "completely buggin'". I also
share the opinion that Marvin Gaye, Herbie Hancock etc. are a few of these
essential 'must hear' artists.

Albums which also have this 'must hear' status are:

Herbie Hancock - Secrets (already mentioned)
Al Green - I'm Still In Love With You
Marvin Gaye - Trouble Man (everybody likes this guy)
Grover Washington Jr. - Live at the Bijou
Gil Scott-Heron - Moving Target (I know, I have to check out Winter In
America)
James Brown - Slaughter's Big Rip Off
Jeune - Back to reality

to name a few..

Keep the good vibes goin'
