Firstly, regarding DJ CAM, his DJ Kicks on K7 is good, but if you can
find it, get his second album "Substances" and his first album that was
released domestically through Shadow "Mad Blunted Jazz" i think it's
called. Due to too many uncleared samples, Substances was not released
through SONY here in the states, but "Beat Assassinated" will be
dropping this summer. Beat Assassinated is less ecclectic, less jazzy
and more on a hip-hop flavor. I'd recommend it, but I think it may be
less rich in texture than his other releases...because perhaps sony told
him to lay off on too many samples?

Regarding the thread about United DJ's of America, I'll attempt not to
sound too biased as I am doing publicity for DMC United DJ's of America
and the Mixmag live series, but Mark Farina's United DJ's Vol. #9 is a
brilliant mixed house CD. Even better is Dimitri in Paris' Mixmag live
CD including tracks by Mondo Grosso, Brand New Heavies, Bjork, UFO --
it's formidable! as the French would say -- funky house at its best.
Though I love his loungey Sacre Bleu CD, it's nothing like it. He said
he made Sacre Bleu for people to play at home. The Mixmag live CD is
the kind of stuff he DJ's when he is at clubs. These titles are
distributed through Moonshine and available in the U.S. If you can't
find them, please e-mail me and I'll tell get you info on where in your
town you can pick them up. Other volumes in these series were mixed by
Derrick Carter, LTJ Bukem, Doc Scott, among others. (Carl Craig will be
doing one of our upcoming CD's, possibly this summer.) any writers out
there?
