'Light My Fire' is my least favourite, with 'Protection' close
behind. I just get sick of hearing the singles over and over again on
the radio .I must have heard it a zillion times. Consequently, when I
buy the albums, I play everything 'cept the singles.
Just bought 'Mezzanine' and love it all, but I haven't played
'Teardrop' yet and probably never will, 'cause I *know* I'm going to
hear it on the radio tomorrow (and I'm only listeneing to the radio
to and from work - 'bout 20 minutes total).
And with regard to singles - I think Massive Attack are a band who
write songs that are obviously singles (sound a bit more 'commercial'
if I can use that word with MA), and others that are obviously album
tracks - It's the album tracks I love.
And I know 'Light My Fire' wasn't a single - it sounds to me like
they needed something to fill the album and that was the first thing
they grabbed.
Marc.
