We discussed this a bit in February on the list. The compilations
contain 'chill out' type of music; laid back and a bit ambient mostly.
I like number 3 in the series.

Recommended album of the week.
Mixmag's Monsieur Dimitri's
de-luxe house of funk (MIX60006-2, distribution by Moonshine) is an
excellent mixed compilation, a bit like Ministry of Sound's "Late night
sessions" series (they had a line of compilations showing the style of
music played at the club). This album is compiled and mixed by Dimitri
from Paris.
The style could be described as funky house.
1.Dimitri from Paris "Free Ton Style" (Monsieur D's Classique
Extension)
2.Morning Kids "Free Lovin'" (Original Mix)
3.Switchblade Sisters "U Love My Music"
4.Sir Raymond Mang "Number One"
5.Second Crusade "May the Funk be With You"
6.Teddy G "Captain Dobbey"
7.Bob Sinclair "Visions of Paradise"
8.Karma "High Priestess"
9.Mondo Grosso "Vibe PM" (Masters at Work Crooklyn Dub)
10.Takada "Ola-Le" (Ashley Beedle's Sun Barrio Break Mix)
11.UFO "Spy's Spice" (Dim's Cosmic Jazz Dubstrumental)
12.Cheb Khaled "N'ssi N'ssi" (Jamming the Casbah Mix)
13.Brand New Heavies "Sometimes" (Monsieur D's Underground
Behaviour Mix)
14.Bjork "Isabel" (Dim's Enchanted Forest)
To me, the music is a bit trance-like, and slowly builds up a style
and repetive sound which is simply irresistable.
Also, the track by Takada is simply brilliant!
Moonshine has a serie of compilations (all DJ mixed) that is pretty
fantastic. Definitely worth checking out. Other recommended
compilations are the ones by Mark Farina and Derrick Carter.
