Maybe this wasn't what you were basing your argument on,
but for me, convenience is a very big deal.

Vinyl is definitely my favorite, as it is so widely
available so cheap. You can get anything old or new. The
harder you look, the better stuff you find, and you become
proud of finding vinyl. Minidiscs are everything that you
need to complement your records. Eventhough the quality is
not perfect, you can take records, and make them more
portable than CD's. MD's are so great because they are so
small, don't skip, hold so much information, and have the
recordability and price of a tape, but the sound (well,
almost) and accessability of a CD.

CD's are right behind the two, but DAT is a little ways
down the line for price reasons.
