Following on from successfull shows by Massive Attack, Fabio +
Grooverider, Air and
Planet V, Giant Step and Leviıs are pleased to announce, event # 5 of 18
in the 1998-99
season of our special concert series MILES A HEAD, the first live NYC
appearance since
the 1970s by legendary Jazz / Folk / Soul singer / songwriter TERRY
CALLIER.

Itıs an event close to our heart, that continues the Giant Step tradition
of presenting
the roots of soul and Jazz.

In attempts to define Callierıs uniquely emotional style of music,
Callier has been
compared to a diverse range of artists that includes everyone from Curtis
Mayfield
to Bob Dylan. The truth is Terry Callier is as important in his own way
as those singers.
A legend largely overlooked here in the States, Callier is revered in
Europe where he
can easily captivate a crowd of 2,000 fans with his emotionally open and
intimate songs.
Itıs helpful to say that Callierıs music combines the fire of John
Coltrane with the folk
of Richie Havens, but the statement hardly comes close to describing the
utterly fresh,
 timeless quality of his performances.

Nowıs your chance to catch a astounding legend, in a rare and intimate
setting for
a show thatıs sure to capture your heart.
