Yesterday, I went to the 3rd Year
Anniversary of Jungle Nation &
Breakbeat Science NYC @ 2i's.
I was pissed because this very nice
pink-haired pixie sprite, Amy,
who was selling slick jeans out of a mobile van
( with it's own sound system and DJ )
in front of 2i's gave Michael Hauben and I
a Jungle Nation invite for reduced admission;
AND
( pause for breath )
the bouncers at Jungle Nation saw this exchange
AND
( breathe )
they didn't let us use the pass and we had to pay
( breathe )
the full $10 to get in, and that's per person,
but not like the invite would have helped you
as it only knocks 2 bucks off the door fee.
Well.
You should check out the mobile jeans van
( they have a characteristic red stripe on 'em ).
They'll be at the MIXXED UP-something event by M.I.A.
this Saturday and BOO ! on Sunday, as well as the
afterparty at Speeed.
I think their web address is:
http://l-------l.com
although that can't make sense,
I dunno.
But Jungle Nation was alright,
met up with Jerry Luna-man and Dawn,
from the dance list.
I'm picking up tickets later afterwork today
at Other Music for the CMJ Opening Night party
@ The Roxy on Wednesday, November 4th.
Featured are Coldcut, Talvin Singh (!),
Mix Master Mike, DJ Krush from Japan,
Wagon Christ, DJ Spooky, Ryuichi Sakamoto (! ! !),
and others.
Tix are $20 and started to go on sale
just yesterday at noon.
I hope this msg doesn't get out
and tix sold out before I get one.
:(
Have a fine weekend, y'all !
Don't trudge into work
(Mon) or (Tues)day
stone cold sober !
Yvonne.
