Greetings,
some quick reviews...
Common Ground LP (?) (Ultimate Dillema)- 5 stars! fat beats,
instrumental hip hop. A really nice range of stuff. It has some smokin
acid jazz vibe uptempo tracks as well as some tripped out downtempo
"Wally" tracks. A few tracks have violins. For some reason i want to
liken it to the Runaways "Classic Tales". It's definitely just as good
and if you liked that keep an eye out.
Snowboy 12"- I think this is new. shit i forgot the name of the track.
Smokin, smokin acid jazz with a latin vibe and fat beats. uptempo. On
the flip there is a downtempo track and a drum and bass track... Is this
a first for him? buy on sight.
Kruder and Dorfmiester Sessions (G-Stone)- A whopping 4 record pack of
asst. remixes. Really smooth and chill all through. Plenty of dub and
slow beats. guaranteed to clear out the dance floor. great for chillin
at work though. in the top 10 98' release category.
Azymuth- Carnival (Far-out) this is older. coulda done without it. not
all that outstanding house. I liked the other 12" they had out with the
mellow groove on one side and drum and bass on the flip. Forget the
name, started with a "Lar...".
Groove Armada LP (Tummytouch) Hippy funkalyptic disco music with an
edge. 40% of it (?) is house. There's a dope slow beat track in a B-boys
"check your head" vibe that kicks ass. The artists on this label seem to
have cornered the market on slamming basslines. If you're digging Tim
Love Lee you probably have this already.
peace all!
