Hey everybody,
Saw Massive Attack in Montreal last tuesday. It was a fine show, but not
much different than that Mezzanine tour bootleg that's around. Horace Andy
was awesome, as well as 3D, Mushroom and Daddy G.
They played some old stuff off Protection and Blue Lines, but mostly stuff
from Mezzanine, but that was o.k. because the album's choice. They played
Euro Zero Zero, One Love, Mezzanine, Hymn of the Big Wheel, Rising Son
(that song is SO choice), Teardrop, Unfinished Sympathy, among the
highlights...
There were about 2,500 people crammed into the place.
Lewis Parker DJed until Massive came on. Unfortunately, Lewis Parker
sucked. I don't know what it was...the crowd was almost comatose with
boredom. No dancing or grooving. And when Massive finally came on after
what seemed like forever, people were swearing at him and fingering
him...cheering because he was leaving. Some shit he dropped was cool, but
some was just so elevator that it was painful.
My 2 cents IMHO.
Peace,
M
