hey... is the Lifers Group the same group that was formed, and did there
thing while incarcerated in Rahway prison NJ? Do they have any vintage
gems, or is their only claim to fame a Shadow b-side? The tape i have
must have a pretty thick layer of dust on it.

DJ Shadow's Lesson 4 was the b-side of a Lifer's Group 12" on Hollywood
Basic. The a-side featured Shadow's remix of "The Real Deal" by Lifer's
Group. My copy is promo vinyl from 91 or 92. Hollywood Basic was dope
with
Funkenklein (R.I.P.) on point. Aside from putting Shadow on wax, they
were
all set to release Major Force tracks domestically in America! Forward
thinking for the early 90s.
