pa> I'm not too sure what the
pa> second album will be like, as the wiseguys are no longer a twosome, and
pa> the two new singles, well, I haven't been impressed. I know this is a
pa> bit harsh, but if they were Fatboy Slim tracks, then they'd be fine,
pa> 'cos he says that he likes making records that get the girls dancing!
pa> But because of the Wiseguys previous work, they come across as too
pa> formulaic. Saying that, the b-sides are cracking. I'd actually
pa> recommend buying the singles, but playing the b-sides.

now why'd you have to go and give out my secret b-side finds? i couldn't
believe what nonsense has been written about "ooh la la" (1st single)! it's
been reviewed as if it were the greatest thing since "music sounds better
w/you"--which i'm also not fond of. what amazed me, really, was that no one
even mentioned the b-side (including urb magazine--home of the "true
school")
but every time i play it, people really dig it (vocal *or* instrumental).

 my experience w/wiseguys is that they're (he's?) a real b-side kinda artist
--who can say in good conscience that "casino non-pareil" is anywhere as
dope
 as "a better world pts. 1 & 2"?
