Hello everyone!

I am pleased to announce 3 mixtapes I have put online as promotional mixes.

Composition A - Downtempo Hiphop styles, mostly instrumental with a few injections of lyrics here and there. I made this mix a couple years ago, and distributed maybe 10 copies to my closest friends and local promoters I was trying to get booked by. Now you too can become one of my closest friends or a promoter by downloading this mix and playing it over and over again for you and your friends, until it finds me a place at a chill room near you!

Endure Vol. 1 - This tape, born and raised in the summer of '96 is a slowly climbing breakbeat excursion, intro and all. I haven't flipped this style in awhile, but upon a re-listening to this tape, I think it still holds its own. (note: some of you may never have heard this type of stuff before, even though it's going on 3 years old) This was even more limited in distribution, i think aside from myself, and people who I used to roll with to parties, it's still pretty much making its debut appearance. (side note: this tape is one in a series of which I already have 2 tapes done, I am still deciding whether Endure Vol 2. is actually Something Completely Else Vol. 1)

Superbowl - My latest creation, funky dubby disco house with breaky breakdowns scattered about. This special early release of my up and coming First Officially Produced Mixtape was mixed together January 31st, so get that tapedeck hooked up to your computer and save yourself some money by dubbing the mix. I'll be making 300 copies of this one, mastering, artwork, 16 point Futura Bold, you'll see it all. (my apologies to the designers)

All three of these mixes can be downloaded from ftp.beat-house.net.

They are fairly large, 108, 76, and 66 megs, but the quality is good, and the download time is less time than it would take you to call me up and have my lazy ass make you a copy myself. (If you don't believe me, ask any of my friends how long it takes me to get them tapes)

If you haven't FTP'd before, FTP software is available at shareware.com, and if you haven't mp3'd before, mp3 players are available at mp3.com. I am available for limited technical support, but I figure if you're with me so far, you probably are not completely ADD so you'll probably be able to figure it out yourself.

Now that your downloads are queuing, I'll tell you a little about myself.

My name is Randy, aka Scribe. I live in the Los Angeles area and have been mixing records for 6 years now. Once upon a time my friends and I used to throw a weekly gathering called Sunday in the Park, out in Orange County. We even did a post Dune II car wash party. I've played at Good Times twice, a Conscious Groove, Elevation 1 and 3, and a few scattered ODP's. A friend and I used to throw a weekly called Dubway in Los Angeles, and I was a resident there. (I almost didn't book myself, cause I hadn't seen my name on enough flyers) My musical tastes tend to be on the funkier side of things, but I've been known to crack a few skulls here and there. I recently set up a website, www.beat-house.net, that will grow to become an online record club, netcast, and dj promotional page. (e-mail me if interested) I'll be in this ish for life, but I wouldn't mind getting a few of my gigs now while I'm still young and my hands haven't gotten arthritic from scratching. I'm ready to move a few crowds, and that's why I'
ve sent this e-mail. BTW I'm still available for the Millenium.

For booking, please contact me at scribe@beat-house.net, or leave a voice message @ 800.208.5846. Please feel free to forward this e-mail to anyone you think may be interested, this includes any regional mailing lists. Thank you for your time and patience to get to the bottom of this page, I hope to get some mail from some of you soon.

Long live the scene,

randy
