aaaahhh. you guys gotta go! ;-) Muslim Gauze is the bomb! I think he has a
pretty large body of work and wide range. Come to think of it, a lot of
recent stuff i wasn't feeling (noisy), but i have about 7or8 cds worth of
stuff that's absolutely great... I think he might be going some wacky
directions now i guess. What did youse get?

similar thing happened to me - I got a record of his thinking this is going
to be some next shit, some dope fusion of middle eastern sounds with fat
beats - and I was disappointed.

I wouldnt say it made me feel nauseous. If there's something that makes me
feel nauseous it's some of those 1950's doo-wop oldies - actually I dont
know if it's nausea or violence that I feel, maybe a combination.

Anyway, about muslimgauze, I dont think he's anything special, and I
generally dont approve of artists who obscure the fundamentals of pleasure
from music with noise... they're fakin the funk!

What do people think of Muslimgauze? Those that have heard of him of
course.

I have a bunch of his stuff and I can't say that I like the music/sound
of it all. I bought it because I thought the guy was doing something
interesting with middle eastern music. I know its important stuff but
honestly this is the only music that has the power to make me literally,
nauseous. I don't know if that's a good or bad thing. The paring of
distorted dissonant rhythms inside of middle eastern drum patterns is
dizzying.

The funny thing is the guy is some British dude with a highly pro-Islam
rap that would make look some of these Islamicists here in Turkey look
like Mr. Rogers.
