Yeah, they've been getting a lot of attention lately. The album is a mixed bag
for me, 1/3 of the tracks I hate (what's up with the Timbaland ripoff? And their
attempts to pander to the Miami Booty Crowd ("Jump & Shout")), 1/3 of it I think
is okay (i.e. the Monday Michiru track) and the other 1/3 I absolutely dig
("Rendez-Vu," "Red Alert" and "Bingo Bango." yes!) I wished they Included some
of the old Atlantic Jaxx stuff, esp that suff with the jazzy filtered/phased
chords.
Still I give the Jaxx much credit (and Masters At work too) for not letting me
flinch every time I hear a 4-on-the-floor beat.
They're also on the cover of URB magazine, in case you didn't notice...
