I loved C.M.'s first one. What a breath of fresh air,
and they had the guts to sample Jorge Ben and risk
lawsuit for it. Is their second more mature as well as
more tame? I saw them live a few months back, pretty
good show, sound *sucked,* so I couldn't get good
grasp of what their new stuff was like. Care to expand
at all?

oh, ok, quick story, saw them in pittsburgh a few
years ago, opening for boss hog (blech whatever but
the drummer is a cutie). the crowd was so mixed and so
happy to be there. it was a huge crossroads of every
musical subculture in existence in pgh at that time,
indie, hip hop, hippies, electronica kids, junglists,
punk, whatever. The gals got on stage and started
talking to the crowd like old friends, and made plans
with 2 audience memebers to go thrift shopping the
next day. Then someone else passed up some roses,
candy, and a homemade tee shirt they had made for
them! It was so cute! The show was great, Boss hog
was boring of course, but the aforementioned blond,
dreaded, skinny, punk,
"Animal"-from-the-Muppets-impersonator drummer girl
sat in for "Know Your Chicken." You haven't heard that
song till you've heard it all sloppy, screaming and
punked out!!
