The only thing I notice with regard to MP3 sound quality is that hihat and crash
cymbals take on a "swishy" quality (RealAudio quality is an extreme form of
that) and that certain things will go out of phase (I recently encoded a tune
into MP3 form and upon playback sometimes the kick drum sounded like it was
panned to the left).But as far as "acoustic instruments" I don't think you would
notice unless they contain high frequency content (i.e. cymbals).
