Yeah!!! I really dig the Cassius "1999" LP , esp. the tunes "Planetz",
"Feeling for you", and "Cassius 99" is still a complete floor filler.
If you dig that funky filtered disco house, check out the new Glasgow
Underground releases by Rick Preston "Ultra Suede" and Romanthony & DJ
Predator "Funky Flava", real super funky shit!!! Also recommended: Sole
Music, Raw Elements, Guidance (jazzy!), PAPER (Gentlemen Thief & Those
Norwegians), Toko, Glasgow Underground Comp. (DJ Q, Mateo & Matos, 16
souls, And Studio Blue).
And Ian Pooley's "Whats your #?" is da bomb!!!!
I feel all this deep house & Tech house is a refreshing change to all
the over hyped speed garage!!!!

Without Thomas Bangalter from Daft Punk leading the way for French House, then I think it won't be as successful "around the world" as it is now. There are many other labels which are just as good as Daft Punk. DP's other tracks I still spin besides "Around the world" and "Da Funk". What about "Revolution909" with Ian Pooley on the mix and "Phoenix" on the album? Cool!
Bob Sinclar aka Chris from Mighty Bop is my alternative choice of other Daft house. Forget Gym Tonic as it is over-played and over-rated. Listen to "Move Your Body" on CD only or b-side to re-release of "Ultimate Funk". The bomb! What about "The Guetto". Funk jazzy vibe to rock the floor.
-Highlights of good tracks from these other French labels
Roulι-Thomas Bangalter's own label. His release of Stardust ripped Europe and in particular the UK. Do not miss however, Spinal Scratch, Trax on Da Rocks Vol1 and Vol2 which shits on Stardust anyday.
Soma-Scott Grooves "Mothership Reconnection" Daft Punk Remixes and Slam Remixes on two separate twelves. I play the Slam remix more as it is more fluid and pumping. Daft Punk's version tries to flip to P-Funk with pumping house and back again. Will work on the dance floor, but be careful.
Kif.S.A-Trouble Men "Do It" ep! Phat chunky bass with jazzy loops and pumpin French style carbon copy! Not to be missed.
BlackJack- Superfunk "La Guerre Du Funk ep". A beaut mix from nice slab of disco "happy" tune which rocks da gals on the floor to weird Daft Punkerian (if one is allowed to describe) beats. A big seller at my shop and cool on the dance floor.
FiatLux- Kardek "Oh You" Def. The dopest track to come out since Daft's work! Remixed by Superfunk (above), this track rips the dance floor injectin' good vibes and many smiles. Check it! http:/www.geocities.com/SunsetStrip/Towers/4640.html for more!
Crydamoure- Le Club Knight "Intergalactic Disco". Thomas B in disguise yet again! Title says it all, a massive DJ Sneak version. In the same vein/road/dancefloor as Cassius without the heavy marketing techniques.
Cassius 1999 is really dope, but there are so many others out there worth the effort to find. Don't believe the Hype!
There are many others, this is just a selection.
Good luck in your search for jazzed up disco house!
CaL.
