Don't know if any of y'all caught the Roots recently, but I went for the
last show Monday night. Really really sick. No Mos Def but Common threw
down, Erykah Badu did a stage dive, and Razel did his new song as well as
being joined with Scrath and three other beatbox mofos for a full Beatbox
orchestra. There was also a batucada styled jam at the end with everyone on
various percussion. And Craig Handy (who I didn't know was playing with
them, a dope jazz Trombonist who been around since the early 80's at least)
rocked, playing digeridoo, an Australian wind instrument that makes some
wacky sub base sounds. Good frickin' show to say the least. Nice to see a
hip hop group that has the legimate jams as well as busting out into new
sounds.
