That's funny, I was just thinking about this last night on my drive home
from work (it's an hour drive so I have a lot of thinking time available). I
subbed to the list back in '93 or so, and I was just reflecting on how much
the content of the list has diversified in the past couple of years. There
was a time when content seemed to be strictly focused on BNH, Jamiroquai,
rare grooves (a la Blue Break Beats), and the occasional slam on Shadow
Records :-)
anyway, just agreeing that the knowledge and musical diversity contained on
the list these days is a welcome resource to me. I've bought quite a few
records based on opinions on the list--some agreeable, some not so much. But
at least I branched out and tried something I wouldn't have normally.
by the way I picked up a single recently by Likwid Biskit (sp?), aka I.G.
Culture. Really funky shit, fans of Herbie Hancock check it out. Anyone have
any info on other releases or LPs?
