Ok rank commercialism and blatant self-promotion aside,
Ms. Hill's last album quite frankly _sucked_.

It was way over hyped at time of release
and is racking up more accolades that it deserves.

"Miseducation" was a rehash of the Fugees' last album.
Albeit it showcased Hill's garglings a bit more.

Why do artists do that so frequently
when they produce a solo effort ?
( a general question )

I.e. why did Tricky do mishmashes
of Massive Attack tracks on Maxinquaye ?

I personally didn't see any originality in "Miseducation."
I've been told that in order to appreciate the album
I'd have to sit in a darkened room and focus on the music ...
blah blah blah, don't have the time or patience.

Re: African American artists
Yah, they don't get the recognition that they so deserve
but why should Hill reap all this misdirected credit ?

And FYI, she dropped out of Columbia after 2 years.

TAZ,
Yvonne.
