* *What's New In HIP-HOP/URBAN* *
==========================================

Yes, yes y'all! Another glorious month in cyberspace and as if you need to be
told, CDuctive is bringing the top shelf of the underground to make your moms
proud. It's what we do. So get on it and, once again, peace to all our
people and some special love to OT, Matt Finngaz, Skiz, Strath, DJ Samba,
Yeshua and The Ruf.

Check out two * *NEW RECOMMENDED COMPILATIONS!* * this month:

*Blip-Hop* - The future sound madness of the Electro heads mixing it up with
the Hop of the Hippest.

*The Hardcore* - Hardcore Hip-Hop demanding your attention if you please.

* *LABEL OF THE MONTH* *

CDuctive is proud to welcome GAME RECORDINGS to the family. Game Recordings
is coming directly from the city of Madhattan and bringing a ground-breaking
sound and style by releasing banging tracks from Lord Digga, Slim Shady (aka
Eminem) and Royce The 5'9. Game was founded by Jonathan Schecter (aka
Schecky-Green), the founding editor of The Source magazine. With capable
input from legendary underground DJ Stretch Armstrong and breath-taking art
work featuring the Game girls, Game's mission is to provide outstanding Hip-
Hop product with packaging that is sexy and appealing to the new rap
generation. The motto is: play your best; enjoy life.

* *EXCLUSIVE PRE-RELEASES* *

New from 3-2-1 Headquarters comes the unreal Hardcore sounds of Chicago's
Rubberoom. Look for their album to drop large this month. It's another banging
release from the genius minds at 3-2-1 and its available nowhere else, but
CDuctive.

The raw dawg Royce The 5'9 throws down the gospel on "I'm The King".

Slotek is throwing a "New Year's Revolution" This way left of the center pre-
release from our friends at WordSound is set to question musical definitions
and help elevate your mental picture of Hip-Hop culture.

* *NEW LABELS* *

*Conception Records*
The brainchild of vinyl fiends Mr. Supreme and Strath Shepard, Conception
Records has built its credibility in the independent hip-hop world by
releasing a steady stream of banging 12"s.

*GuessWhyld Productions*
The music and the movement are the prime movers of GuessWhyld Productions.
After already dropping sick releases from Mike Zoot, Lace Da Booms, El Da
Sensei and Tommy Tee, GuessWhyld is looking to take it to the next level in
'99 by releasing more and more of the good sounds

*Head Bop Entertainment*
Head Bop Entertainment was founded by three young entrepreneurs with a solid
understanding of hip-hop on an underground and mainstream level. Wee Bee
Foolish, "Tiger Boogs" - ain't a damn thing changed, this MC sets up and sets
the straight record crooked with his ill flow Brooklyn style.

*Makin' Records*
Directly from the Holy Land of Brooklyn, Makin' Records has been pumping out
quality independent Hip-Hop since 1996. The main man of the fam, OT, is
running with pure love one of the most honest and true-blue labels in Hip-Hop.

*Ruf Beats*
Dave Davies aka 'THE RUF' set up the label in 94 following his years running
record shops & his radio show "the boomin system". THE RUF has recorded over
90 tracks. Ruf Beats is representin' the UK and presenting their own thing, so
check it out.

* *NEW RELEASES* *

*GoodVibe Recordings*
The Anonymous, "I Spy" - Definitely hot enough to melt your winter funk, this
track brings the good sound.

The Anonymous featuring Zaire, "Fantasy Island" - With a little help from
Zaire, The Anonymous continue to get open.

The Anonymous, "Manifest Destiny" - This track is slick enough to open a new
sound to Hip-Hop. Thick with Electro influence, this one is off the hanger.
Straight for the West Coast the GoodVibe family continues to bring the
quality.

CDuctive fan.

Check out two * *NEW RECOMMENDED COMPILATIONS!* * this month:

*UP Records*
If you're not hip to UP Records, here's your chance to explore it. Bands
range from Land Of The Loops, Built To Spill, Modest Mouse and 764-Hero just
to name a few.

*No Depression*
A smattering of some of the best alt country tracks CDuctive has to offer.
Artists on this CD sampler include Smog, Neko Case, Old 97's, The Geraldine
Fibbers, the Bad Livers and The Ex-Husbands.

* *LABEL OF THE MONTH* *

*UP RECORDS*
UP Records is the brainchild of two music fans that felt an urge to contribute
good music to good people. The history of UP is a modest one; putting out
music by bands we really love, believe in, and want more people to know about.
UP has been around for five years now and is going strong with laurels like
Modest Mouse, Land of the Loops, Quasi, Built To Spill, The Pastels, 764-HERO,
and many more! Good luck, good taste (or so we think), and good fortune has
smiled upon UP and we give thanks and look forward to what the future holds.

* *PRE-RELEASES* *

*Track One A.B*. (Royalty Records)
Track One A.B. is back with their new release available here on CDuctive
before it hits the streets in May. Pleasantly trippy with a rocking back beat.

*Fu Manchu* (Man's Ruin)
Man's Ruin loves to full you up with that stoner inter-galactic Fuzz Rock that
you love to listen to with headphone while you have your black light shinning
the way to audio nirvana.

*Croatan* (Man's Ruin)
Damaged feedback, demented female vocals, pleadingly brutal metalloid rock
drumming combine to offer you songs of obsessive painful musings over the
state of your internal mental decay.

*Stisism* (Man's Ruin)
Unassumingly brilliant understated no frills musicianship combined with an
individualistic and poseless attitude.

*Alabama Thunder Pussy* (Man's Ruin)
CNN sighted Alabama Thunder Pussy as an example of " The current degeneration
and immortality of American music and culture today". Heavy Rock 'N' Roll in
the manner of Molly Hatchet, Skynyed the Melvins or AC/DC.

CDUCTIVE SIGNS EXCLUSIVE LICENSING AGREEMENT WITH * * THE BUTTHOLE SURFERS* *
The Butthole Surfers have selected some of their favorite material from their
first four albums--Psychic, Powerless...Another Man's Sac, Rembrandt
Pussyhorse, Locust Abortion Technician and Hairway to Steven--for exclusive
use on CDuctive. Visitors will be able to choose tracks from these albums, all
of which are currently out of print, for inclusion on their custom CDs.

CDUCTIVE SIGNS EXCLUSIVE LICENSING AGREEMENT WITH THE * * THE TIGER LILLIES* *
The Tiger Lillies defy any singular description and operate within their own
eccentric definitions. Formed in 1989 they have spent much of the last ten
years living as itinerant musicians traveling from town to town around Europe.
The band's activities can be monitored on http://www.tigerlillies.com.

* *NEW LABELS* *

*Beluga Records*
Hailing out of the windy city of Chicago IL, Beluga offers a tight and
slightly eclectic roster of that true indie sound. Mustache, Zipperhead, Cats
& Jammers and Jaws Of Life are some of their stand out acts.

*Yellow Slipper*
Born from the idea that great music should be heard by all, Yellow Slipper
Recordings has dedicated their knowledge of the music scene and their
precision ears to provide you with unique forward moving music.

* *NEW TRACKS* *

*Sleater-Kinney* (Kill Rocks Stars)
Here's you chance to hear what all the well-deserved buzz is about. The
Sleater-Kinneys bring power pop to a boil with their sophisticated release.

*Blue Meanies* (THICK Records)
The Blue Meanies are a "musicians band" placing importance on creating a
"signature sound" rather than easily digestible songs manufactured for radio.
Labeled as a SKA band, the Meanies take chance (that pays off) by
incorporating the elements of Swing, Jazz and of course punk.

*Aden* (Teenbeat Records)
Aden presents you with striped down orchestrated pop that's designed to please
your ear and your soul. Smart, sensitive and arranged skillfully Aden will
give you audio flashbacks of such great bands as the Tindersticks and Yum-Yum.

* * EXCLUSIVE PRE-RELEASES* *

*ASPHODEL*
For those who are not already familiar with the artist known as WE, prepare

Root of Negative One' is a powerful album that has been carefully constructed
to challenge its listener and to envelop you in the simplicity of sounds and
the complexity of the arrangements.

*CAIPIRINHA*
Featuring Thomas Brinkmann, Mike Ink, Ryoji Ikeda and new tracks from Kim
Cascone and Germany's Rastermusic/Noton collective, this compilation delves
into the more scientific, intellectual elements of electronic music. This
music explores the inner-workings of sound and synthesis and often involves
the use of ultra-modern synthesis techniques.

* *NEW RELEASES* *

*SSR*
Phosphorus, drops the most sophisticated of future/jazz/lounge/experimental
sounds, with their debut album Pillar of Salt. The sultry vocals of Emma Stow

many instruments you will hear cleverly engineered on this masterfully
produced album.

TELEX. ,the post Krafwerk pre Synthpop group from Brussels that helped define
a sound that is still very much alive. And it's remixed by some of today's
best techno/house/electro producers, including Carl Craig, 16B, Glenn
Underground, Buckfunk 3000, Pizzicato 5's Yasuharu Konishi and Dr. Rockit.

unadulterated funk.
