But, some of us just like the esthetics of needle in vinyl. The Planets'
'Rebirth of Slick (cool like dat)' video just wouldn't be the same with out
the few visuals of the record going round.
As for DJ/Producers: (trying to think of those names I look for in credits)
Andrea Parker, DJ Shadow (why I like the new U.N.K.L.E.), DJ Premier (can't
stand Guru's voice), DJ Spinna, Cut Chemist, Rudy Van Gelder (all Blue Note
stuff), Kruder & Dorfmeister, Bilal Bashir (Sounds of Beyond), Coldcut, DJ
Food(Ninja Tune Dream Team), Roni Size (Reprazent), David Holmes ("Out of
Sight" soundtrack), Photek (Science/Photek records, look for Rupert Parks),
Carl Craig (Innerzone Orchestra, Planet E Records), LTJ Bukem (Good
Looking/Looking Good Records, La Funk Mob/Cassius/Chatte Rouge (Boombass et
Zdar, voir MC Solaar), Jimmy Jay (Jimmy Jay's "Cool Sessions"), Dimitri
from Paris, Earth Records), Cajmere/Green Velvet (Cajual Records), Mad
Professor, Lee Perry, King Tubby, Dust Brothers(Beastie Boys' "Paul's
Boutique"), The Angel (Jaz Klash, 60 Channels), 2nds to PB Wolf, Dego &
Marc (Jacob's Optical Stairway, 4 hero, Reinforced Records), Prince Paul.
and International A&R James Lavelle (and the dude who started Island,
..Black?).
Find the founder of a small Record label and if there is a 'simmilar' sound
then the founder/producer is the culprit, or like James they seem to pick
the right people.
