Speaking of Star Wars, (and this is on-topic now! :)), I don't see the
hype being a problem; most of it was media- and fan- generated rather
than self-generated (i.e. the Godzilla fiasco of last year). I for one
have yet to see one "Phantom Menace" billboard/bus bench, and at least
there are no awful phony "soundtrack" albums containing "Music from and
Inspired By 'Star Wars Episode One: The Phantom Menace.'" with some
hideous, pathetic rock song tacked on during the end credits (see 'Armageddon').
And speaking of Star Wars music, remember that rumor a year or two ago
about George Lucas getting the Sneaker Pimps to cover/remix one of the
John Williams soundtrack songs for use as a dancefloor single?
Another thing: "Duel of the Fates" = Karl Orff meets Philip Glass.
