I went down to Soho and got some vinyl:

Mos Def- This record does it for me, in fact it single
handedly restores most of hip-hop's lost cred.
Intelligent, funky to the bone, cutting edge but
always in the pocket, amazing unity (despite nine
producers...).

EPMD: So wha' cha saying, Deadly hip-hop instrumental
track on the flip, main pass club killah.

7Hurtz- Outpost records- break beats, warped and
twisted like my uncle Frank, Very inspiring and dance
friendly.

300% Dynamite- Those guys at Soul Jazz are good
people, Sister Nancy's Bam Bam alone justifies the
purchase, that track is something of a mystery....
Jamaican pop, sweet, futuristic and packed with enough
turbo to take you there and back in 3 mins. Get it!

used vinyl

Lou Donaldson- Alligator Boogie & What ever I'ma do
gonna be funky. The beats man, Idriss Muhammed at his
prime, intricate drum patterns, beating the funk in
fifty places and still turning it loose at the same
time...New Orleans style, bad muthas..

Grover Washington-Inner City Blues CTI jazz-soul
affair, Idriss Muhammed in the house with my man Ron
Carter on the bass, yes my man.... nice rendition of
ain't no sunshine, inner city blues, I loves u
porgy....#

Gary Bartz-Follow the medicine man, The bizniz I see a
kinda link between Bartz and out-there cats like
shadow, peshay, Ian o'brian..... tranchettes of
tortured soul sliding all over freaked drum patterns.
Eloquent commentaries of these last days... Peace.
