Hey Matt :)
Cage is definetly worth keeping an eye (ear?) out for. In 97 (or maybe early
98) he dropped what i believe was his debut 12", "Radiohead" b/w "Agent
Orange" (Fondle' Em) and allmost managed to make horrorcore sound
interesting again. I guess he didnt quite live up to Gravediggaz' debutalbum
(+ his pressphoto where he had 50 toothpicks in his mouth really wasnt
*that* scary), but atleast he gets a thumb up for sampling A Clockwork
Orange + having a strange flow.
Later on he dropped a second solo single which i havent heard... and just
now (last week or maybe the week before that) he released his third 12",
"54", which is quite nice.
However, what you *really* need to look for is Smut Peddlers.. thats Cage
and Mr.Eon (High & Mighty), with Mighty Mi (High & Mighty) serving the
beats. They have a brand new 12" out now + theres a couple of older tracks
by them on the new Eastern Conference Allstars compilation ("High & Mighty
Presents The Eastern Conference Allstars").
His "radiohead"/"agent orange" single was produced by this guy.. uh.. of
course i forgot his name. Anyway, if you should find out that you like Cage,
his producer (whos allso a mc) will probably be worth looking into too. He's
put out atleast one solo EP + a short movie and i think hes somehow
affiliated with Non Phixion.
Damnit.. whats that guys name?
