dear list: I went to Blatimore to check up on the Baltimore Breakbeat scene
(also known as DOO_DOO music after"Doo doo brown") i havent been all year
so i decided to get some vinyl and tapes and cd. well that scene is blowin
up bigger than ever . They had an lp comp "unruly classics" rebviewed
favorable in Urb (the drug cover issue) AND THERE ARE MORE RECORDS IN THE
GENRE THAN EVER.(PARDON THE CAPS ) The store itslef is big sloppy mess(a
compliment) that is a delight for beathunters. I went to the branch at 201
saratoga st .I picked some rally good stuuff on vinyl . The only thing is
the instore dj make beats (dj technics is a doo -doo giant) and he cherry
picks stuff. In particluar the soundtrack for Phantasm that he out aside for
himself right in front of me > Th store was filled with beat guys(customers)
who spoke knowledgably about beat chopping. There are alot of hip hoppwers
in Baltimore im surprised the town hasnt produced more than DRu hill.
