I figure if everybody else can post their playlists or concert dates I can
get away with this short post of what cool new releases we have this week
(I'm sure Erik will tell me if I'm wrong or I'll get flamed into
oblivion...):

These are some of the highlights from our list this week:

Nu Skool Breaks- Brand new Chicken Lips single on Kingsize, new album from
Los Chicharrons “Congo Heaven, Bongo Hell” out on Tummy Touch (check out
samples in our Listening Booth), and the new Rex Record 10” by Op:l
Bastards.

Drum & Bass- Grand Unified and King Kooba singles on Second Skin, Clint
Mansell’s drum & bass theme from the movie “PIE” remixed by Jamie Myerson,
and Bobby Womack’s classic “Across 110th Street” remixed by 4Hero ??!.

Trip Hop- Aim’s latest 12” “The Force”, Deadbeats full length, Fila Brazilia
’s latest single, new Ronin 12” by Skitz vs Rodney P, and two new Pussyfoot
singles by Deep
Cops and South Sea Bubbles.

We also now have Groove Distribution record bags to go along with our
t-shirts. And we are now down to our last 6 free gold to platinum upgrades.

And it's not new this week but the Outcast album "No Strings Attached" on
Kingsize totally rocks. I missed this when it came out, but just
"discovered" it a week or two ago. Outcast used to be Adelphi, which any
long time acid jazz fan will recall, and some of the cuts (esp. Chi Funk and
Piece Of Mind) sound like they could be Adelphi tracks--funky, mid-tempo
acid jazz instrumentals. They don't sound dated but they do sound like they
could have dropped years ago during the time of Freakniks, RPM, etc. The
other half to two thirds of the album is nu skool breaks tracks that fall
somewhere between the cheeky, party tunes of Freskanova and Kahuna and the
dark, acidy sound of TCR. Lots of scratches, hip hop samples, some dub
reggae breaks and fast slammin' beats. Check out Kingsize's website
www.kingsize.co.uk for more info and sound samples. We'll probably put some
samples up on our site later this week, too (there's a track or two from the
Kingsize compilation up already). It is definitely worth checking out.
