Had the fortune to see Mister Truby last night at Baktun in NY
yes, he is everything he's made out to be
He played one slamming track after another, all impeccably mixed, heavy on
the brazil vibes, as well as heavy on the sound that Jazzanova has pioneered
- impeccable, precise, incredibly syncopated, compressed, house-not-house
funk. Also some really fat latin-vibe oldiesi that I have never heard, and
some heavy hitting dancefloor jazz...
great show.
also I ran in to list-members Argo & Stephanie at the party... good to see
you! next time, I need to come to Philly :)
peace

Speaking of Rootdown99, I really enjoyed Rainer Trüby's
DJ set last saturday here in Los Angeles....
He started off with a very abstract downtempo tune,
like that of Compost label stuff, then played a mixture
of house, brazilian funk, dico, fusion for almost two hours!
Wish i could get a playlist....
Those in New York and Chicago
and in toronto at movement this friday the 8th...
zach
should definitely check him out!
