dear list: I have been buying used cd at media play. recently there was an
article on used cd stores in my town and one of the guys who runs a
shop(independent non chain) says he can tell trends by looking at what
shows up. For example kid rocks cd is already showing up in big numbers.
since it just czme out in the last year that means hes played already. In
the case of "never mind " by nirvana, this cd shows 1) they sold a lot 2)
its pretty old. I have some luck in the r and b and rap section. Sometimes
a classic will show up Nas"illmatic" raekwons "cuban linx".These are over 3
years old and they were gems that went fast( i got "linx" but missed
"illmatic" when i ran out of cash and had to go back). On the other hand
the recent rza comp was in the rack and it is only 6 months old. I never see
POrtishead or Tricky proving that the few who bought them arent parting with
them just yet.
