I've heard 2 Ella Fitzgerald mixes and I need to own them both.
One was an almost house track, smooth 4/4 sort that makes me think of
California and is similar to the filtered french stuff I bought too much
of about a year ago, but much more organic. Something about 'that sky'
but thats all I could make out as the radio station faded. (herculean
effort went into getting into the emergency lane, so I could back up
enough to get the station again). The other, sunshine of your love,
even more incredible, and had a guy saying something at the beginning
[and it was a familiar voice too, I have him on something else,
somewhere, but I can't figure out what] and dropped in a slow to mid
tempo track with HUGE bass. (and since it was rush hour, it took the cop
a good five minutes to get to me) so I also heard a layed back house
mix of Walking on the Moon before I had took switch off for my talking
to.
Can anyone give up some info about these tracks? I've already called
the (almost open) record store and they don't know. Did a West Coast
listee post something about Ella Fitzgerald a coupla weeks ago? The
search results on 'Sunshine of Your Love' were kinda overwhelming and
I'm not sure what I'm looking for...
