    I have had some similar reactions!
    Take the Embassy Mix of Neon Phusion's "How Time Flys"
    It's even got some fretless bass work in it. It's a little vintage
    sounding, but still could blend in (and stand out of) a US r'n'b
    set... More the Jodeci set than the Destiny's Child type of thing :)

    Also, has anyone noticed Jazznova's recent tendency to write beats
    that are damn near 2-step garage? On the two latest remixes for Tates
    Place and Incognito.... None of the 2-step bass mind you, but the
    similarity reminds. Ticky hats, tight snares, heavy heavy
    syncopation.... Way cool.
