Don't know why I didn't mention it, but seeing Femi Kuti at the Metro in
Chicago was definitely worth the drive... I completely forgot I had
bronchitis and a sinus infection until the lights came back on - and I
also realized that they had just painted the floor and we were all stuck
to it!! But it didn't matter, the energy from the stage and the crowd was
wonderful. I haven't developed my film yet, but I have hopes. Though one
odd thing happened, a (drunk?) woman strutted on stage and started
sticking dollar bills to Femi's sweaty self (yeah the security sucked) and
tossing money around. I think she meant to show appreciation in a twisted
way but it was degrading.
