I am positively in love with my copy of The Dark of Light, which is
on Cobblestone Recs / Buddah recs from '73. It's got some serious
vocals from Dee Dee Bridgewater, it's got Herbie Hancock on keys, and
has two Stanley Clark songs. Gary Bartz does sax.

It's spacy and wild. It's got a (for some) torturous eleven-minute
free improv session called Black Lightnin. Laughter, one of the Clark
songs is very light hearted and funky, and the title track is heavy,
heavy soul jazz. Butterfly Dreams is very laid-back, sampled by Tek 9
    a while back...

I've had my copy for years, so I can't say if it's easy to come by,
but I would say it's worth it for the title track alone. It's in a
similar vein to some of the material on Black Love by Carlos Garnett
(also with Dee Dee on vox). I am in love with that album as well.

    Cheers,
