One night only!! Friday April 28, Toronto's most happening new soul
monthly, 'Soul on the Streets', teams up with sunny, soulful weekly,
'Soleil Fridays' for a full-on evening of deep grooves and fresh funk.

Introducing new soul flavas, urban world grooves and funky classics, SOS
started up mere months ago, yet has already played to a pair of jammed
packed, completely 'souled-out' gigs. 'Tis a great sign as the SOS crew
prepares for their first Canadian tour, taking place this summer. SOS
features six distinct musical movements for the soul and funk enthusiast:
Fab experiments, soul nova, groove thang, funk-rock steady, retro rhythms
and goodness gracious beats. SOS features DJ's Malik X, (legendary,
groundbreaking host of CKLN's 'Radio London'), Sweet P ('Sounds of Young
London,' CKLN) and Jude Kelly (CBC Radio) spinning classic soul, jazzifunk
    and soul nova rhythms.

Malik X was the host of Radio London (CKLN) from 1989-92 and almost
single-handedly launched the rare groove, acidjazz and techno craze in
Toronto. He's written two books of poetry and produced numerous jazz-poetry
    discs.

Sweet P (Paul Jay) is known as a DJ's DJ. His popular Saturday night radio
show on CKLN has an ever-increasing audience. His musical talents are
hereditary: his brother Norman Jay is described as Europe's music guru and
one of the UK's top DJs.

Jude Kelly is a promoter, soul enthusiast and well-known player on the
national urban music scene. In recent years he's hosted a pair of popular
soul and jazz series on CBC Radio and writes regularly for Word and Chart
    magazines.

Soleil Fridays can be found each 'n every week at Fez Batik with resident
    DJ's Denise Benson (CKLN's 'Mental Chatter') & Sassa'le (CKLN's 'Version
Excursion') mixing their magical mix of downtempo * jazzy d&b * deep house
    * beats * breaks and sunny, soulful grooves.

Cover for this all-inclusive eve of five stellar DJ talents is only $5.
    Doors 9pm.
