Did anyone who got the new Two Banks of Four record "City Watching" notice
that one of the tracks on there is pretty much a cover version of Pharoah
Sanders - Village of the Pharoahs? I'm all for the right to sample, and
redefine things... but this just sounds like a straight up cover. They
changed the name of the track and there are no credits on the sleeve. What's
the story on this? It's one thing to take an amazing piece of music and make
a shoddier version of it, but put the guys name on the record jacket. City
Watching is some lush jazzy stuff that definitely comes recommended though.
