Sorry to hear about your stolen sampler :(
The ASR-10 is exactly the same as the EPS, architecture-wise, but even better:
built-in effects, resampling capability, high-density floppy drive, stereo
sample capability, and if you have the expensive-but-useful SCSI interface,
you can connect zip/hard/cd-rom drives and even import Akai and Roland
sounds. I STRONGLY suggest finding one that has SCSI-built in. The SCSI
interface costs about $350.
The thing I don't like is the ASR-10 is extremely HEAVY. It's got a
mostly-metal casing that really adds to the weight. Other than that, I love
mine. But I am thinking of getting a Korg Triton or an MPC2000XL as a
second sampler.
