Happy Easter everybody! This week’s new releases and restocks list is now
    posted on our website (http://www.groovedis.com).

Many of you have already either talked to him or gotten an email from him,
but I still want to “officially” introduce everyone to our newest staff
member, Joe Phillips, who is in charge of our mail order dept. Joe is the
one who manages the V.I.P. club and makes sure all the mail orders get out
each week. You can reach him at ext. 103 or at joe@groovedis.com. And
speaking of staff members, we are once again looking for help. Our shipping
manager, Jake has moved on to other opportunities and our promotions
manager, Troy is going to be attending school full time later this year, so
we have openings for both a shipping manager and a promotions manager.
Anyone interested should send a resume AND cover letter to myself, Dirk van
den Heuvel, at dirkv@groovedis.com or by fax to 312-666-5507. As an added
incentive for people to go out and find us some good employees I’m offering
a free Platinum membership or $75 credit reward for any one who finds us a
new employee (the only caveat is they have to last 60 days).

And if you haven't checked the listening booth recently be sure to check out
the following releases: Jazzland Remixed (in acid jazz), Santessa
(downtempo), Teebee & K (in drum & bass), and the Future World Funk
compilation (in acid jazz). Look for Eddy & Dus, DJ Stix, and Teebee in
    coming days.

Lastly, we’ve been getting a lot of emails from people overseas asking if
they can place orders or join our V.I.P. club, the answer is a resounding
    yes.

    Highlights This Week (04/24/2000):

Acid Jazz/Downtempo/Trip-Hop: excellent new DJ Stix album (if you have the
Groove Dis CD Sampler 1.01 check out the DJ Stix track on there and you’ll
know how cool this is)— very much in style of Vadim, Cam, Deckwrecka or
Hefner, new Deadbeats 12” with a brand new b-side, new 5 track EP from
Valerie Etienne, Jung Collective 12” on Tru Thoughts, and the Sidewinder on
Fenetik (same as Pablo). Plus more copies of the Black Science Orchestra
“Soul Power” mini-LP with 2 killer downtempo Ballistic Bros-styled cuts and
we still have a few copies left of last week’s excellent Capsule single out
    on Catskills.

Big Beat/Breakbeat/Nu Skool Breaks: new single by 2 In Da Bush from
FingerLickin’ (home of Plump DJs and Soul Of Man), new single by DJ Promo
called “Freaky” that sounds a lot like Krafty Kuts, Death In Vegas “Dirge”
(remixed by Slam), new limited edition 1-sided 12” from Skint head honcho
Midfield General, and two new remix 12”s from Kingsize (featuring Meta
Katie, Outcast, Sir Drew and more).

Drum & Bass: San Fran’s E-Sassin drops “Genome”, new K (as in Teebee & K or
Polar) single out on new label Subtitles, Rekoil featuring Dylan on
Outbreak, jazzy jungle from Solid State (Pressure Rise style),and the debut
release from Ratio records run by Red One (of Ram Records fame).

House: new Classic 12” by Markus Nikolai remixed by Derrick Carter, new
Mateo & Matos, Natural Calamity remixed by Groove Armada on Nuphonix, and
the Plastic Avengers full length on NRK.

Other: Lots of 70’s afrobeat albums from Tony Allen (reissued by Strut),
latest issue of DJ Magazine (with MJ Cole on the cover), new albums of
offbeat electronica from Lackluster (on Focus, the label started by the
Clear folks) and Max Tundra (ex-Warp), and the Disco Spectrum 2 album now in
    on CD.
