I second that one. "Nia" has got to be one of the
best hip-hop albums of 2000. It just throws a big
shadow over all the bullshit out there right now.
Chief Xcel's production is laced with soul and that
fantastic drum sequencing Quannum is known for.
"Shallow Days" is my hot joint, but the whole thing is
outstanding.

Heard that new Jurassic 5 album, "Quality Control."
That just may tie "Nia" in my mind. The whole thing is
just this long trip into the "Wild Style" past. A few
of the tracks I could do without --- a little too much
on the group rhyming. But the beats and the music
carry those through. Cut Chemist and Numark really
came through on this. I guarantee everyone will be
bumpin the title track all summer long.
"Ay yo my quality controoooooooool/It captivates ya
party patrooooooool/Ya mind body and soul/Verbal, the
bell tolls let the rhythm explode/Big bad and bold be
boys of old."
