I recently saw Coldcut play @ the Essential Festival in
Brighton and their audio visual symmetry kicks way beyond
acid-jazz - delves into bits of break beat, hard bop &
hip hop. They make music with visual clips which kinda
kick the beat - if you see a bell ringin visually then
you hear them play it - I had to remember to shut my mouth
a few times, never seen anything like it...
I just caught label mates Hexstatic at the Big Chill &
they use the same visual technique balanced into some
awesome old skool electro breaks set - people were just
blown away....This label rocks, and I hope they get that
Kid Koala to play with them too.
I'm booking my ticket for the San Fran weekend
now...If there's any other acid jazz stylee music goin on
that weekend in San Fran, please e me off list - I like
dub and hip hop 2....
I read on the ninjatune website there's a 3 part CD comin
out called Xen Cuts - with lots of xclusive, so must be
the year of 10 - talkin loud, ninja tune...mo wax is only 8!
acid jazz must be 12!
